Meanwhile, Alcorn Central entered their tilt with Wheeler on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.
Sydnee Norman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Norman was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, BryLee Price was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Journey Phillips was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Alcorn Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Alcorn Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Falkner, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Falkner hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Alcorn Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
