Pecos has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Kermit Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pecos comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Saturday, Pecos had to suffer through a rough 52-25 loss at the hands of Socorro. Pecos was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.
Meanwhile, Kermit had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Trinity with a 62-57 win on Saturday. With that victory, Kermit brought their scoring average up to 52 points per game.
Among those leading the charge was Jaden Bejarano, who scored 19 points. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Brayden Pando, who scored 14 points.
The losses dropped Pecos to 0-6 and Socorro to 6-4.
Pecos was able to grind out a solid win over Kermit in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 56-43. Does Pecos have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kermit turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
