Odin/Patoka's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 69-46 loss at the hands of Dieterich. While losing is never fun, Odin/Patoka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 635th, while Dieterich is ranked 245th).
Dieterich got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lucas Westendorf out in front who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. The contest was Westendorf's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Keck, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Odin/Patoka's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Dieterich, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Odin/Patoka won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Grayville at 6:15 p.m. on January 9th. One thing working in Grayville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Dieterich, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Farina South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
