The Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers lost against the Madison Cubs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Shawe Memorial suffered a rough 72-49 defeat at the hands of Madison. Shawe Memorial has not had much luck with Madison recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Madison got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryder Jones out in front who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Gabe Fife, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Shawe Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawe Memorial will finish 2023 at home by hosting Cannelton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison will be home for the holidays to greet Tournament Team at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
