Softball Recap: Shead Takes a Loss

Shead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 19-2 to the Machias Bulldogs. On the bright side, the two- run performance marked the Tigers' highest-scoring contest to date.

Shead's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Machias, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shead will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Schenck at 3:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Machias, they will challenge Narraguagus at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
