 Even though they lost, Boca Ciega  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with eight  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 On Gulf's side, their win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Julianna Carter, who  went 2-for-3 with a  triple and a  run.
 Boca Ciega's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Gulf, their victory  ended  a  four-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 4-10.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boca Ciega will  challenge Lakewood at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Boca Ciega is facing Lakewood at the right time seeing as Lakewood is stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for Gulf, they will head out on the road to  take on  Tarpon Springs at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Gulf is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses.
