The Burroughs Bears won the last time they faced the Burbank Bulldogs, and things went their way on Thursday too. Burroughs took down the Bulldogs 69-54. Given Burroughs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 839th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Landon Everhart continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Omar Payind was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Burbank lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Odartey Blankson, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 50% of Burbank's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamran Alborzian, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Burroughs' victory bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Burbank, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season.
Burroughs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Burbank also has no future games currently scheduled.
