Torrey Pines had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-10, 25-11, 25-14.
Torrey Pines can attribute much of their success to Lila Green, who had 13 digs and two assists.
Meanwhile, Christian hadn't done well against Academy of Our Lady of Peace recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Patriots blew past the Pilots 3-0.
Christian never let Academy of Our Lady of Peace on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 27-25.
Christian found their leader in freshman Paetyn Tamp, who had 12 digs and one assist.
Torrey Pines' victory bumped their record up to 34-4. As for Christian, their win bumped their record up to 19-10.
