Greenwood has been on the road for eight straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Pecos Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Pecos likes a good challenge.
Greenwood suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Seminole by a score of 58-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Loss or not, Greenwood got some senior leadership from Ty Presley and Tatum Pierce. Presley scored 21 points, while Pierce. scored 14 points.
Pecos suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Andrews 68-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Pecos has suffered against Andrews since February 14, 2020.
Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Pecos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-15.
Everything came up roses for Greenwood against Pecos in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 82-40 win. With Greenwood ahead 48-23 at the half, the game was all but over already.
