Not much got past Ariana Boisvert, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Laguna Hills off the board. Boisvert has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bella Bos was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Savanna Bias was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Buena Park didn't have quite enough to beat Lakeside on Saturday and fell 9-8. While the Coyotes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lancers 5-1 in the first period.
Mia Gonzalez put in work no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Gonzalez was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Layla Hinojos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Calista Beltran, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Buena Park's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Calvary Chapel, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Everything went Calvary Chapel's way against Buena Park in their previous matchup back in April of 2018, as Calvary Chapel made off with a 12-1 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
