In what's become a running theme this season, the Edinburg Bobcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by La Joya on the road to the tune of 65-9. The win was familiar territory for Edinburg who now have 12 in a row.
Edinburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kimora Fagan out in front who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Fagan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Carranco, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, La Joya struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Edinburg posted 11 assists.
Edinburg pushed their record up to 27-2 with that win, which was their 15th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.53 points. As for La Joya, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-24 record this season.
Edinburg will be playing at home against Edinburg North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Edinburg North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday. As for La Joya, they will head out on the road to take on Economedes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Economedes focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
