Forrest is 8-2 against Cascade since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Forrest Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Cascade Champions at 6:00 p.m. Forrest has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
Last Tuesday, Forrest was beaten by Cannon County 65-36. While losing is never fun, Forrest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while Cannon County is ranked 45th).
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Cascade's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Grundy County 62-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Cascade saw an underclassman step up: Kaegan Young scored 27 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Young has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Suzanna Crews, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Forrest's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.
Forrest was dealt a bruising 58-29 defeat at the hands of Cascade in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can Forrest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
