The Knox City Greyhounds are taking a road trip to face off against the Northside Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Knox City knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Northside likes a good challenge.
Knox City lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Harrold, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Greyhounds put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 11-1 win on Friday.

04/07/25 @ Munday | 5 |
04/04/25 vs Northside | 3 |
The team relied heavily on Naveah Martinez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Kinlee Eaton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Knox City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Northside came up short against Munday on Friday and fell 17-13.
A. Acosta made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole five bases while going 4-for-5. KJ Hollenbaugh also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Knox City pushed their record up to 5-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Northside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Knox City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .452. However, it's not like Northside struggles in that department as they've averaged .430. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Knox City came out on top in a nail-biter against Northside in their previous meeting last Friday, sneaking past 14-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
