Davidson Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Hunters Lane likes a good challenge.
Davidson Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 93-41 win over Dayspring Academy on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Davidson Academy has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Hunters Lane's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 67-40 defeat at the hands of Hume-Fogg. While losing is never fun, Hunters Lane can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Hume-Fogg is ranked 151st).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jacques Battle, who scored six points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarien Kelly, who scored eight points.
Davidson Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for Hunters Lane, they bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Davidson Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hunters Lane in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory.
