Calyn Seal made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Emmalin Hopkins and Zarah Lawson did most of the damage at the plate: Hopkins got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Lawson got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Hopkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anessa Winstead, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Hancock County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Washburn fell victim to Hancock County and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 18-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost seven in a row.
