The Madison Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Palmer Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Two weeks ago, Madison came up short against Life Oak Cliff and fell 42-35. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on October 10th (33), the Trojans still had to take the loss.
Madison's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Randy Hudson, who threw for 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt, and Kevieon TucKer, who rushed for 107 yards on only 14 carries.
While Madison came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Life Oak Cliff: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 44.4%. The team can thank Kam White for the heroic effort on defense: he. That defensive display was nothing new: Madison has limited their opponent to a lower and lower completion percentage in three consecutive games.
Madison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jereme Waites and Rashad Jones.
Meanwhile, Palmer got the win against Life Oak Cliff on Thursday by a conclusive 41-21. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.
Palmer's win came from a few key players Madison will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eric Cisneros, who rushed for 184 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 166 yards and one touchdown on only 15 passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 115 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Sutton Maddox, who gained 206 total yards and a touchdown.
Palmer's defense made their presence known, laying out Sukora ' Sip' Cooper Jr three times. Jacob Medina was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Palmer's record now sits at 7-2. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Madison came up short against Palmer when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 35-25. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
