The SkyView Academy Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Flatirons Academy Bison at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
SkyView Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Lyons on Thursday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 8-0. The Hawks have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
SkyView Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Holden FitzRoy, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Flatirons Academy waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Bison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by nine runs or more this season.
Parker Wilson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last ten games.
In other batting news, Flatirons Academy got a massive performance out of Noah Evans, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mateo Pope, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Flatirons Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Otis only posted an OBP of .235.
SkyView Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Flatirons Academy, their record is now 13-4.
SkyView Academy suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Flatirons Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2018. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
