After losing to the Pleasant Grove Vikings the last time they met, the Wasatch Wasps decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Wasatch walked away with a 49-42 win over Pleasant Grove on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wasatch.
Wasatch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashley Garner out in front who scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Garner has scored at least 25% of Wasatch's points. Another player making a difference was Mahala Speredon, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Pleasant Grove's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tabi Clark, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Connors, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Wasatch's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Wasatch will head out on the road to face off against Union at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Timpview at 7:00 p.m.
