Needles has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against Adelson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Needles knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matches -- so hopefully Adelson likes a good challenge.
Needles stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They really took it to Awaken Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 82-32 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Needles has posted since December 9, 2023.
Luca Walema and Xavier Russell were among the main playmakers for Needles as the former dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds and the latter scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Russell hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Darrell Russell was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Adelson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 11th straight loss. They took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of White Pine.
Needles' win was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Adelson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
Everything came up roses for Needles against Adelson in their previous meeting last Thursday as the team secured a 80-23 win. With Needles ahead 51-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.
