Suburban - Red recap September 17, 2013
Park Hill South's Derrick Cook recorded the longest rushing play in Suburban - Red this season in his game against Truman last week. Cook scampered for 58 yards on the play and finished with 120 on the day as his team bested the Patriots.
Truman fell to Park Hill South 51-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Thomas Ganaden put up the best numbers in passing as Lee's Summit West topped Central. He finished with 13 completions for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ganaden's favorite target this week was Brenner Clemons, who caught 3 passes for 43 yards.
Nick Griffith was the best receiver in the league this week as Mark Simcox's team bested Gregg Webb's team. Griffith racked up 5 receptions for 96 yards. Ryan Cockriel helped Park Hill South's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 63 yards.
Cook was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Cory Land added to the ground attack by rushing for 31 yards.
As it stands, the Patriots are in fifth, while Park Hill is in third.
The Trojans made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,487 from 3,747. The improvement came about via a 31-26 victory over Park Hill last week.
