This season hasn't been kind to the Furlow Charter School Falcons, who are still winless after their 16th contest. Their rough 62-36 defeat to Baker County on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. If Furlow Charter School was looking for revenge after losing 50-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamari Deriso, who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and six blocks. Deriso has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Jaylen Deriso was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Furlow Charter School dropped their record down to 0-16 with that loss, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.7 points per game. As for Baker County, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Furlow Charter School's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Baker County, they will take on the Royal Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
