Even though the Lanier County Bulldogs have not done well against the Charlton County Indians recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lanier County walked away with a 52-39 win over the Indians. For Lanier County, this counts as revenge for the 40-38 defeat the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Charlton County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mahogany Steele, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds. Steele is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Trenity Hamilton, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Lanier County's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Charlton County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lanier County will take on the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Charlton County, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinch County will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
