The University Trailblazers struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Roncalli Royals had 900% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. University took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roncalli. University lost against Roncalli in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-47 score last time.
University's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Leah Norvell, who scored 8 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Grubbs, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Roncalli found their leader in underclassman Lydia Stahley, who scored 15 points. Taylor Turk was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
University's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Roncalli, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will face off against Muncie Burris at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roncalli, they will head out on the road to face off against Ben Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ben Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
