It was another big night for Henry Phan, who scored 28 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Osvaldo Ramos, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds.
Katella's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dillon Curtis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Curtis' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Michael Montejo was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Katella were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rancho Alamitos only racked up seven.
Rancho Alamitos' win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Katella, they have yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 3-2 record.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Alamitos' road trip will continue as they head out to face Magnolia at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Katella, they will challenge Workman at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Workman is ranked 572nd, while Katella is ranked 562nd).
