If the Bolles Bulldogs were feeling good off their 60-20 takedown of the Andrew Jackson Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bolles fell just short of Ribault by a score of 49-46. Bolles has not had much luck with Ribault recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Bolles' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Knauff, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Knauff pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Evie Freeman, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Terryanna Medlock had an outrageously good game for Ribault as she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Medlock is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Alexzondria Gross was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals.
Bolles' defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Ribault, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bolles will take on Creekside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bolles focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. As for Ribault, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Westside at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. Westside is coming into the matchup with seven straight victories on the road, meaning Ribault will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
