On Saturday, Heyworth was beaten by Calhoun/Brussels 42-14. It was the first time this season that Heyworth let down their fans at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calhoun/Brussels to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Stanley, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Stanley was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Conner Longnecker was another key contributor, rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Heyworth's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Calhoun/Brussels, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Heyworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Calhoun/Brussels will be playing in front of their home fans against Camp Point Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Camp Point Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
