Lake Travis is 8-2 against Akins since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lake Travis Cavaliers will be playing at home against the Akins Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of five wins, Lake Travis' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Johnson by a score of 57-54.
Despite the defeat, Lake Travis had strong showings from Chas Biegel, who scored 24 points, and Adrian Mathis, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Biegel has scored all season. Jayden Thomas was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Akins' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Westlake at home and fell 86-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Akins has scored all season.
Lake Travis' defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-5. As for Akins, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-19 record this season.
Lake Travis strolled past Akins when the teams last played back in January by a score of 75-58. Will Lake Travis repeat their success, or does Akins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
