The Jordan Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Heritage Huskies at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jordan, who comes in off a win.
Jordan barely beat Holly Springs the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons put the hurt on the Golden Hawks with a sharp 7-1 victory on Thursday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Golden Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Jordan got a great performance from Philip Daly as he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keenan Mills, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Heritage entered their contest against Northwest Guilford on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Huskies came up short against the Vikings, falling 13-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Huskies, who until this matchup were averaging 3.62 runs allowed.
Heritage also got a good showing from Ellis Droke, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Droke hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in March of 2025.
On the hitting side, Heritage saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Small, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Jordan's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Heritage, the defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 9-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jordan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Jordan couldn't quite finish off Heritage when the teams last played back in February of 2025 and fell 12-10. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
