Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Adams Central extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Flying Jets came out on top against Blackford by a score of 12-9. Surprisingly, this marked the Flying Jets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Jami Roach made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Adams Central: the team is 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Roach was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Joey Everett was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Adams Central's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Max Byerly was another key player, earning two RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases.
Adams Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's offense. They fell just short of Homestead by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The Braves' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Adams Central's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Adams Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Adams Central beat Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian 9-6 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Flying Jets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
