The Cypress Ranch Mustangs lost against the Cypress Lakes Spartans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Cypress Ranch fell to the Spartans 53-47. Cypress Ranch has not had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Cypress Ranch lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Averie Steele, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alexis Duhon, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Cypress Lakes' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniah Alexis, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 23 consecutive games in which Alexis has scored at least a third of Cypress Lakes' points. Makennah Alexis was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
Cypress Ranch's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 19-13. As for Cypress Lakes, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress Ranch will challenge the Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Langham Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 387 points over their last six matchups. As for Cypress Lakes, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Spartans are ranked 135th).
