Last Friday, it was a hard-fought game, but Franklin Academy had to settle for a 30-27 defeat against the Eagles.
Despite the loss, Franklin Academy got a solid performance out of Sarah Godwin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 48.1% of Franklin Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Research Triangle, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-34 loss to the Eagles on Saturday. Research Triangle has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their game on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Franklin Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Research Triangle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Franklin Academy strolled past the Raptors in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 41-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
