St. Edward's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Gurley, who threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of her passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Those 352 passing yards gave Gurley a new career-high. Layne Dawson was another key pass catcher, picking up 57 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Another reason for the win was St. Edward's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Savannah Lynch and Evelyn Sala, who racked up six sacks between them. Gurley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
