In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonna Strock, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Taylor Rouan was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Champion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Champion pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average this season. As for Brookfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
