A classic North v. South matchup is on the schedule. The Lakeville North Panthers will welcome the Lakeville South Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Lakeville North's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Lakeville South has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Lakeville North and Prior Lake have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Lakers by a score of 7-3.

Aivry Abraham was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lakeville North let Alicia Jeanson and Izzie Stevens run wild. Jeanson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Stevens went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Stevens a new career-high. Kia Hernandez-Winfield also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Lakeville North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Farmington hit Lakeville South with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars lost 12-3 to the Tigers.
Lauren Schellhammer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Schellhammer was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Trinity Jensen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Lakeville North's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Lakeville South, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Lakeville North beat Lakeville South 8-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
