If Odessa wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played San Angelo Central, they should've done a better job of containing Zeyvion Johnson. The Bobcats skirted past the Bronchos 35-32 for which the team can thank Johnson, who rushed for 141 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. San Angelo Central is 3-1 when Johnson posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.

Despite the loss, Odessa had strong showings from Phillip Carrasco, who threw for 302 yards and a pair of TDs, and Andrew Rodriguez, who picked up 193 receiving yards. Rodriguez showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 53 yards.

San Angelo Central now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Odessa, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

San Angelo Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 52-16 victory against Frenship on the 6th. As for Odessa, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 58-28 defeat against Midland Legacy on the 7th.
