Softball Recap: Bohemia Manor Finds Playoff Glory Versus Colonel Richardson

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bohemia Manor walked away with it. They never let the Colonel Richardson Colonels get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Wednesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by eight runs or more this season.

Lyla Wescoat (2027) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gwen Ayers (2026) McDaniel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kylee Bergman (2025) Salisbury, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Bohemia Manor is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Colonel Richardson, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
