The La Salle Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Rio Hondo Prep Kares at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rio Hondo Prep will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: La Salle extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Pomona Catholic.
Barbie Solis made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Rio Hondo Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp 9-3 win.
Like La Salle, Rio Hondo Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: BRYCE JOHNSON. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. JOHNSON was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, MADISON BURL was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. EVONNY ORTEGA was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Rio Hondo Prep's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for La Salle, their record now sits at 11-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. La Salle has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rio Hondo Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
