Huron is 9-1 against Milan since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Chiefs will welcome the Big Reds at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Huron's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Huron's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Jefferson with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Gavin O'Hara tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Jakob Furkas and Jackson Surma did most of the damage at the plate: Furkas fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4, while Surma got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Surma a new career-high. Dayton Miller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Huron lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Milan was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They fell just short of Airport by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Big Reds have suffered since April 25th.
Gunnar Kruise was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Milan: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-17 otherwise.
Huron has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 25-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Milan, they dropped their record down to 13-18 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Milan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Huron hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. It's a different story for Milan, though, as they've only averaged .211. Will they be able to contain Huron's hitters?
Everything went Huron's way against Milan in their previous meeting back in April, as Huron made off with a 17-2 victory. Do the Chiefs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Big Reds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
