After a string of four wins, the Hanover-Horton Comets's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Concord. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Hanover-Horton still got an impressive performance from Luke Soper, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. Soper has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. John Wallbaum was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Wingfield, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds.
Hanover-Horton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Concord, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Hanover-Horton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jonesville at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. One thing working in Hanover-Horton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
