It was a good run, but the Antioch Christian Academy Gators unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 47-36 to Temple Christian. Antioch Christian Academy has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Antioch Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pierce Howell, who scored 13 points. Howell is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Jered Davis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Temple Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremiah Rivera, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rivera has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Little, who scored 14 points.
Antioch Christian Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5. As for Temple Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Antioch Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Temple Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st.
