On Thursday, the Salpointe Catholic Lancers faced the Mesa Jackrabbits in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Salpointe Catholic blew past Mesa 42-21. The victory was nothing new for Salpointe Catholic as they're now sitting on five straight.
Leading Salpointe Catholic to victory were Jordan Watts and Aryanna Kollasch. Watts scored 11 points, while Kollasch scored 9 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Watts has scored at least 25% of Salpointe Catholic's points. Another player making a difference was Allison Even, who scored 5 points.
Salpointe Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Mesa, they bumped their record down to 6-1 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
