The biggest upset of the week belonged to Clarke County, who took down 82nd ranked Andalusia, 9-6.
UMS-Wright Prep extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 1 this week by beating Monroe County, 56-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Tyrone Dixon was the best wideout in the league this week as UMS-Wright Prep beat the Tigers. Dixon tallied five receptions for 95 yards. Bobby Guthans helped UMS-Wright Prep's passing attack out by catching two balls for 25 yards.
Michael McCalman put up the best numbers through the air as the Bulldogs fell to the Bulldogs. He finished with a total of nine completions for 55 yards and one touchdown. McCalman's favorite target this week was Devante Jackson, who caught one pass for 25 yards.
Troy Dixon was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 135 yards as Terry Curtis' team topped Monroe County. Champ White also contributed to the rushing game with 40 yards on the ground.
5-foot-8 quarterback McCalman of Andalusia is the league leader in passing yards this season with 667. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Bulldogs' Dixon has rushed for 912 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Dixon. The UMS-Wright Prep star has 24 catches for 307 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when UMS-Wright Prep takes on Clarke County. The Bulldogs' offense has recorded 245 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Bulldogs have permitted only 83 on the year.
UMS-Wright Prep's Dixon needs only 88 yards against Clarke County next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on the Bulldogs. At the moment, UMS-Wright Prep is in first, while Clarke County is in third.
The Bulldogs took down Brad Rhodes' team 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dixon in the win.
