Heritage Hills won the last time they faced Evansville Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Patriots put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 14-2 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Peyton Gray made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gray was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andersen Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Krzykowski, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Heritage Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.

Heritage Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Evansville Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Heritage Hills will be playing at home against Evansville Reitz at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Evansville Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Boonville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
