Marion hasn't had much luck against Alexandria-Monroe recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Giants will host the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Marion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Meanwhile, Alexandria-Monroe put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Oak Hill. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brynlee Humphries was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kinsley Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Wood, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Marion has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Alexandria-Monroe struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
