Woodside is 7-2 against Heritage since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Woodside Wolverines will be playing at home against the Heritage Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Woodside has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Heritage will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Friday, Woodside and Gloucester were almost perfectly matched up, but Woodside suffered an agonizing 15-14 defeat.
Meanwhile, Heritage put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They breezed by Kecoughtan on the road to the tune of 34-7. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Heritage had established a 20 point advantage.
Heritage had a senior duo take command as Derrick Gurley jr threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns and Sterling Anderson picked up 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Gloucester's victory bumped their season record to 3-7 while Woodside's loss dropped theirs to 1-8.
Woodside barely slipped by Heritage when the teams last played back in September of 2022, winning 21-20. Will Woodside repeat their success, or does Heritage have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
