The Jesuit Tigers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Plant Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jesuit scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Brandon at home to the tune of 81-28. That 53 points margin sets a new team best for Jesuit this season.
Jesuit got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Julian Parker out in front who scored seven points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Parker posted eight or more assists. Ayden Hewitt was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Plant posted their biggest victory since December 27, 2023 on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 71-34 win over Newsome. Given Plant's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Newsome is ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jesuit pushed their record up to 16-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Plant, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Jesuit couldn't quite finish off Plant in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 and fell 51-48. Will Jesuit have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
