Union Colony Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Rodriguez led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Sarchet, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Rick Fortunato and Gavin Dillon certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Fortunato scored ten points, while Dillon scored seven points.
Nederland struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Union Colony Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-8 record this season. As for Nederland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Union Colony Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Machebeuf at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Machebeuf is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Nederland, they will take on Poudre Community Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Poudre Community Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 last Monday.
