Baseball Recap: Wake Prep Academy Victorious

Wake Prep Academy was forced to take a big defeat against Nash Central on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Thursday. The Guardians came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-5. This was a revenge game for the Guardians: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Tuesday, they had to take a 11-0 loss.

Wake Prep Academy let Garrett Watkins and AJ Hurd run wild. Watkins got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Hurd went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Hurd is becoming a predictor of Wake Prep Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't).

Wake Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Nash Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Looking ahead, Wake Prep Academy will venture away from home to challenge Fike at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Demons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.93 runs per game on average), something the Guardians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nash Central, they will be playing at home against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
