After flying high against the Academy for Urban Leadership Charter Jaguars on Thursday, the Keansburg Titans came back down to earth. Keansburg ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-38 walloping at the hands of Shore Regional on Friday. Keansburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shore Regional to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reese Fiore, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Conley Smolokoff was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Keansburg bumped their record down to 2-2 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Shore Regional, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Keansburg and Lakewood will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Shore Regional will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Asbury Park at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Asbury Park is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
