 Breelyn ( Bree ) Garcia was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Garcia was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  run and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Adelaide ( Addie ) Winn was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Grace Gober, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
Cyprus' record is now 12-9. As for Tooele, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 10-12.
 Looking ahead, Cyprus will square off against West Field at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Longhorns' pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tooele, they will host Stansbury  at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Buffaloes are facing the Stallions at the right time seeing as the Stallions are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
